Pically

If you want a personalized calendar, you could look for a specialized service and pay for such a calendar. A smarter and cheaper approach is to look for an application and create a calendar yourself. Pically can generate a printable calendar with your own pictures. Additionally, the application allows you to specify important events and holidays and it will mark them on the calendar for you.

Pically is lightweight and it doesn't need to be installed. All you have to do is download a 5.21 MB executable and run it. The application is compatible with all popular Windows platforms and it doesn't have any special requirements. Another advantage is the fact that Pically is offered completely free of charge, but you can make a donation if you want to.

The application displays all months of the year on the upper half of its user interface. Each month has its own option for selecting a picture. Once you click one of these options, you can choose a picture, in almost any format, on a standard Open dialog. Selected pictures appear as thumbnails on their corresponding months and you may click them if you wish to select different pictures.

On the lower half of the interface you can add general events and holidays. After selecting an event type, a day and month and typing a short description, you must click a button to add the event to a list. Alternatively, you can import events from an Apple iCal. When you are done selecting pictures and adding events, you have to select a year and click a Generate button, located on the lower edge of the interface. The calendar will be stored in PDF format, in a folder of your choice.

The months and their pictures are displayed on separate pages of the PDF. The specified events will appear on their corresponding dates. Also, before you generate a calendar, you can tick an option if you want the calendar to start with Monday, instead of Sunday.
